真人版《美女與野獸》上映後風波不斷，因片中提及同性戀情節，在馬來西亞無限期延遲上映。昨（16）日在香港上映後，卻被爆料有學校因為電影內容涉及同性戀，要求家長別帶小孩去看此電影。
據港媒報導， 香港一所學校因為認為《美女與野獸》與原作有出入，刻意插入一段來福對自己性向感到疑惑，想親吻加斯頓的情節，被學校認為是在宣揚同性戀，特別發出通知信，內容提到：「神不喜悅同性戀，所以我們呼籲家長不要帶孩子或讓孩子觀看此電影。」甚至認為此舉才是引領孩子們走在正道上，到老也不會偏離，最後還加上校長的簽名。關於此消息，香港迪士尼還未作出回覆。

中華電總經理謝繼茂昨（9）日表示，2017年是電信產業競爭白熱化的一年，中華電董事長鄭優進一步強調，尤其是在MOD及寬頻網路，中華電面對競爭，絕對不會讓別人搶走市占而無所作為，更不會讓人砍到躺在地上。
另外，眾所矚目的IP Peering價格降定了，鄭優說，雖然NCC要求調降IP Peering高達4成，對中華電並不公平，但為了配合政策，中華電一定會全力配合。
鄭優透露，中華電董、總近期將聯袂向NCC爭取頻道公平上架權。他說，黨政軍條款確實不利中華電MOD發展且無線電視台目前在有線電視系統台定義為必載、不必付上架費，但上架到MOD卻要付錢，很多頻道商無法或不敢上架到MOD。鄭優說，這些不公平現象，近期中華電都要跟NCC反映，希望主管機關協助改善，他呼籲頻道商踴躍上架到MOD，攜手打拚匯流版圖。
此外，一例一休新制，確實也對中華電造成不小壓力，由於電信是24小時服務的產業，很多員工必須在政府規定的休假日上班，謝繼茂說，初估休假上班的加班費，一年大約要額外增加1.9億元，不過，相對於中華電一年300多億元的人事成本來說，還在可應付範圍內。
中華電昨晚舉辦年終感恩餐會，前董事長呂學錦、李炎松，前執行副總張豐雄、國際分公司總經理冷台芬、前神腦董事長薛紀建等，許多過去中華電高層都在鄭優盛情邀約下「回娘家」團聚，新任獨立董事顏漏有、陳正然也首度參加中華電的尾牙宴。鄭優還特別獨唱「快樂的出航」，以及與員工合唱「乾一杯」、與員工共樂。
中華電今年以「昂首雞鳴，領先創新」作為2017年的目標，除了要在數位經濟扮演發動機的角色，也將在創新產業扮演領航員。鄭優強調，雖然中華電正面臨龐大的競爭壓力，但絕對有信心，因為該公司擁有許多專業技術及人才，除了力求改善並提升4G通話品質、MOD與寬頻網路整合，未來也要正面迎戰有線電視業者的競爭，另外，在國際市場方面，將著手開發更多新興業務，以帶動公司新的成長動能。
不過，面對媒體詢問2017年營收及獲利目標，鄭優僅透露，將在24日董事會通過財測目標後、於25日法說會對外公布。
